Hello Everyone! It's been awhile. Life has been a bit nuts! About 12 days ago (it seems longer than that and shorter than that at the same time), Mom and I departed with a car full of stuff for Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Then we moved into a completely empty house with whatever was in the car, then commenced to go shopping. All we did was shop for 9 days: furniture, toilet paper, dishes, TVs, everything and anything you need in a house! Believe it or not, it was exponentially easier to buy furniture than it is to buy a garbage can to go in my bathroom! I refuse to pay $35 for a garbage can that sits next to my toilet! It was interesting shopping with my mother. She didn't care if I bought a leather sofa but she really had an opinion on which shower curtain I chose! She hated the purple fleur de lis in the store, but she loves it now! How funny she is.
My neighbors on the left side of my duplex are fantastic. Emily and I get along fantastically! She's my big sister. I like her husband, Reb, a lot and their daughter, Rebecca, is beautiful. I think we're going to have a blast together watching Disney movies and going to Walmart on thursdays! :D
I just finished my Graduate Teaching Assistantship workshop--which was thursday and friday--so I am now qualified to teach undergraduates. I met the one other new theatre graduate there so that very much serendipity! I had supper with my professor--Donna-- for my birthday with my mother, and she kept saying "there's a new directing grad but nobody knows anything about him!" so it was really neat to finally meet him. We're going to have a great time together!
Wow, I'm too little for teaching! It's very possible to have students who are older than or the same age as me! Eeek! At least I won't be teaching until fall '09 so I'll have a little more time to grow up! I would really love to teach though, I think I could do that when I grow up. I don't know what I'll do when it's time to get a real job 3 years from now, but I'm honestly not worried about it right now. I think I'll know exactly what I want to do by this time 3 years from now. Until then, I'm going to study, work hard, and have a little fun in my "spare time."
There's a possibility of a roommate too... she may be moving in on friday, but I don't want to jinx it so I won't talk about that!
Classes are starting on wednesday. I have "orientation" on monday and tuesday... we're cleaning and reorganizing the costume shop in a very major way so I get to help with that! Donna said to make sure that I didn't wear anything nice those two days... nothing like diving in!
Please pray for continued smoothe transition and for a good church family!
